Corvette Suv Copy 1562172837

Overview

An SUV bearing the Corvette name may seem unusual, but prepare for just such a ride to hit the market—as an EV, no less—for the 2025 model year. A source inside General Motors told us that after years of hesitation, Chevrolet is finally following many other sports car manufacturers in expanding its legendary Corvette sports car brand to cover vehicles beyond two seats. The company is in the midst of creating a new performance-focused EV sub-brand that will include an SUV as well as a four-door sedan. The Corvette SUV will reportedly offer an 800-volt electrical system and high-revving electric motors powered by GM’s Ultium battery technology, which can charge up to 350 kW. The SUV may not be the first Corvette nameplate to offer an electric powertrain, as we know the company is also preparing an electrified version of the Corvette C8 sports car. When we learn more about the Corvette SUV, we’ll update this story with details.

What’s new for 2025?

The Corvette SUV will be an all-new model for the Chevrolet lineup when it goes on sale. We expect it to be at least a few years away from becoming a reality and expect to see it debut for the 2025 model year.

Prices and which one to buy

1LT

$80,000 (estimated)

2LT

$90,000 (estimated)

3LT

$100,000 (estimated)

A five-seat electric Corvette with ground clearance, cargo space and go-fast performance will no doubt sell for a higher entry price than the base version of the current mid-engine C8 sports car — though top trims could reach up to Z06 territory — but these estimated prices are at this stage merely stabs in the dark. The Corvette SUV is still a few years away from production and we likely won’t know more about it until closer to its on-sale date.
