A Galway town has paid tribute to the family of a popular fitness instructor following his unexpected passing.
Andrey Averin, from Athenry in Co Galway, died on Thursday afternoon (November 10). He was 40 years old.
Mr Averin was a popular figure in Athenry, having spent a decade as a fitness instructor at the town’s Tranquility Leisure and Spa. The spa paid tribute to Mr Averin on their Facebook page, saying his energy within the club was contagious.
“Dear Members, It is with deep sadness that we would like to inform you of the sudden and unexpected passing of our fitness instructor Andrey Averin,” the spa wrote.
‘Andrey has been a great asset to the Tranquility team for the last 10 years, teaching our Aqua Aerobics and Active 55 classes. His energy and enthusiasm around the leisure club was contagious and he was very popular with the staff and everyone who attended his fitness classes.
‘We would like to express our deepest sympathy to Andrey’s family and friends at this difficult time. Rest in peace Andrey.’
People paid tribute to Mr Averin in the post’s comments, with one writing saying he was ‘a lovely man. His aqua aerobics classes were fantastic. My condolences to his family and other loved ones, and may he rest in peace.’
“It is with deep sadness that we wish to inform you of the sudden and unexpected passing of the beloved Andrey Averin,” his obituary on RIP.ie read. ‘He died on Thursday afternoon at his home in Athenry. Andrey was a loving father to his 3 children.
‘He was always full of life and his positive energy was contagious to those he met. He will be sadly missed by his loving family, friends and colleagues.’
Mr Averin will repose at Quinn’s Funeral Home, Athenry, on Tuesday, November 15, from 5 to 7 p.m. Private cremation to follow on Wednesday, November 16. No flowers, and donations if desired to their family fund.
