Fort Myers Beach woman arrested for burglary at Smash Fitness in Cape Coral

CAPE CORAL, Fla. – A Fort Myers Beach woman was arrested in connection with a robbery at Smash Fitness in Cape Coral.

Officers from the Cape Coral Police Department responded to a call in reference to a burglar alarm at 1722 Del Prado Blvd South #11 on Saturday, November 19th.

Through the window of the front of the store, officers saw a woman, later identified as Tracey Ischelle Omilian, rummaging through drawers and items behind the counter, according to CCPD.

When officers knocked on the door, Omilian, who was wearing a “Smash Fitness” sweatshirt, walked to the front door and unlocked it to let them inside.

A half-eaten piece of cake protein bar was strewn across the counter, along with an open protein shake. Additionally, the computer behind the register was also opened for the “Point of Sale” tab, officials said.

Omilian said she is unsure how she ended up at this location and was not an employee at the gym. She helped herself to snacks, drinks and clothes because she was cold and hungry.

The investigation took place after Omilian became obnoxious and began yelling profanities at officers.

She tried to grab one of the officers, as well as kick an officer in the chest. Omilian even tried to grab the Taser, handcuffs and keys during the dispute.

Soon after, she was arrested.

Inside her purse was a glass pipe that tested positive for the presence of fentanyl.

She faces charges of petit larceny, resisting with violence, battery on a law enforcement officer, burglary and possession of drug paraphernalia.
