Consultant breaks down New York’s legal cannabis industry

Last week, New York City took a big step forward in creating a market for recreational marijuana.

The state’s Marijuana Control Board has approved its first batch of marijuana retail pharmacy licenses for three dozen companies and nonprofits across the state. The state legislature legalized marijuana for adult recreational use last spring, but getting the market going has been a slow process.

Jesse Campoamor, a longtime consultant who helped shape the state’s marijuana law, joined Bobby Cuza on “Inside City Hall” Tuesday to discuss the state of New York’s legal marijuana industry.
